» CNY Family Celebration

We’ll be helping China Institute out at their CNY event. They have many scheduled activities, like dumpling-making, paper lantern workshops, interactive storytelling, so volunteers will be there to make sure everything runs smoothly.

» Lunar New Year Parade

Date:  Sun, February 14, 2016 (9AM - 4PM)
Location:  Mott St. and Hester St.

This year, Key Club will be walking with Chinatown Kiwanis in the annual Chinese New Year Parade! The parade will be looping around Chinatown, starting at Mott Street and finishing off on Grand Street. Chinatown Kiwanis is our sponsoring Kiwanis club, so we highly encourage you guys to come to the event! Also, it’s just cool to march in the parade and have all those strangers cheering us on!

If you are members of another school’s Key Club, you can attend the event with us! Just put in the 4-digit ID space the name of your school.

» Lunar New Year Fest

We’ll be helping MOCA again with their Chinese New Year festival. They will have many activities storytelling, art demonstrations, and dance performances going on. Volunteers will help with crowd control, setup, and helping with any activities.

» Climb to the Top

We’ll be helping the National MS Society with their annual stair-climbing event. Runners will be going more than sixty flights up, so volunteers will be cheering them on and helping with any additional tasks.

» Brooklyn Lunar New Year Lantern Festival

Better Chinatown Society will be hosting their annual Lunar New Year celebrations will be held all throughout February this year! Sunday, February 28 is the Brooklyn Lantern Festival. We will be helping Better Chinatown set up and run booths. There will be cultural performances, martial arts, lion dancing, art & crafts, calligraphy, giveaways, social services booths, and more!

» The 67th Annual Leadership Training Conference!

Location:  Desmond Hotel in Albany

LTC stands for Leadership Training Conference, known in other states as the Key Club DCONs (District Conventions). LTC is a chance to get a full Key Club experience and get a glimpse at how big Key Club really is. Like other years, LTC will be hosted at the Desmond Hotel in Albany (we will be going to the hotel via coach bus, so don’t worry about having to drive to Albany) from March 18-20, along with hundreds of Key Clubbers from all over New York! THIS IS THE BIGGEST, FUNNEST, BESTEST EVENT OF THE YEAR!

» United Airlines NYC Half

Date:  Sun, March 20, 2016 (5:30 AM - 10:30 AM)
Location:  Central Park West Drive at 67th Street

We’ll be helping NYRR out at their half-marathon. Volunteers will be setting up the fluid station tables, pouring water, and keeping the area clear. The weather will probably have warmed up by the event date, so it’ll be much more enjoyable. Don’t let the early time discourage you from attending!

» The Color Run Queens

Date:  Sat, May 7, 2016 (7:30AM - 1:30PM)
Location:  Citi Field (123-01 Roosevelt Avenue, New York, New York, 11368)

The Color Run Queens will be raising money for Back on My Feet, a charity that raises money to help those experiencing homelessness. Volunteer tasks include handing out water , revving up the crowd, and throwing powdered color (corn starch) at runners.
